There is still not any exact possible explanation to this as the mad Titan was himself in shock after watching the Infinity Gauntlet getting fried.

The action of snapping his fingers wiped out half of the life of the universe which changed the reality on a massive scale requiring tremendous amount of energy and may be even the Infinity Gauntlet wasn’t a powerful vessel capable of holding this much energy so it got damaged. 2.
